Royalty officer in traffic accident

The accident happened near Kensington Palace

A police officer from Scotland Yard's Royalty and Protection Group has been temporarily suspended from driving after an accident in which a child was injured.

The one-year-old boy and a 71-year-old woman were hurt in Tuesday's incident.

The child is in a stable condition in hospital.

The accident happened close to Kensington Palace in west London.

An internal investigation is under way and the Police Complaints Auhtority has been kept informed.
