Man dies in road accident

One man has been killed and another seriously injured after a collision involving a car and a mobile crane in the Forest of Dean.

The accident happened on Tuesday at 1640 BST on the A38 at Elton Corner, and led to widespread traffic congestion in the area.

The man who died is believed to have been a 19-year-old passenger in the car

Emergency crews worked for more than an hour to release him from the wreckage.

The other man, 19, from Cinderford was airlifted to hospital, where his condition is described as serious.

Neither men have yet been identified.

An investigation is underway into the incident.
