Boy dies after swimming lesson
An 11-year-old schoolboy has died after collapsing during a swimming lesson at a school in Alderney.

Doctors and paramedics were called to St Anne's School on Tuesday afternoon.

The boy was taken to hospital where he later died.

Education Council president Deputy Martin Ozanne said he was aware of the shock felt by the whole community and sent his deepest condolences to the family.

St Anne's head teacher Kevin Everett said pupils and staff will be offered support and help at this difficult time.

He said they were "shocked and saddened" by the incident.
