A motorcyclist chased a driver home before threatening him with a knife, smashing windows at the house and slashing his car tyres.
The road rage incident happened after Paul Ellis, 38, caused a motorcyclist to swerve when he made a sharp left turn in Winterslow, Hampshire.
The rider of the motorcycle followed Mr Ellis' white Ford Mondeo home to North Lane, West Tytherley, after the road incident at 2245 BST on Monday.
Despite Mr Ellis's apologies, the police say, the motorcyclist swore at him and produced a
knife.
He then smashed six small panes of glass in the rear door of his home and two
windows at the front and slashed three tyres of the Mondeo.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "The driver of the car, Mr Ellis, accepts that a faulty indicator may have failed to notify the rider of the bike that he was going to turn left.
"But Mr Ellis's mother, Valerie, who was also home at the time, was left shocked and frightened by the incident."
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen either the motorcyclist, who is described as big and wearing black leathers and a black helmet, or the white Ford Mondeo to come forward.
