Inquiry into building site death
An investigation is under way after a man was killed on a building site.

The 29-year-old man died while working at the new Fremlin Walk shopping centre development, in Maidstone, Kent.

Kent Police and the Health and Safety Executive are conducting joint inquiries into the incident, which happened at 1000 BST on Friday.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said on Tuesday that the man, from Maidstone, was an employee of P J Carey Contractors.

He had been fatally injured in an incident involving a vehicle.

The spokesman said: "We have been to take a preliminary look at it and our officers are currently investigating.

"There is not a great deal we can say while the investigation is ongoing."

The shopping centre, which will have 350,000 sq ft of retail space, is due to open in March 2005.
