Nurse accused of attempted murder
Chester Crown Court
Ms Salisbury is due back in Court in September
A nurse from north Wales has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder five of her patients.

Chester Crown Court heard how Barbara Salisbury of Trem y Mynydd in Pontybodkin, Mold, is accused of trying to murder James Byrne, 76 in May 1999 and Reuben Thompson, 81, Frances Mary Taylor, 88, Frank Owen, 92, and Bertram Madeley, 76, between February and April last year.

All five were patients at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Cheshire, where Ms Salisbury worked.

All have since died.

The 47-year-old nursing sister was bailed to appear at the court for a plea and directions hearing on 8 September.

She was bailed on condition she stays at Cheadle Royal Hospital in Greater Manchester. She is allowed to go to her home address with permission of the hospital.

A trial date has been set for 13 January 2004.
