Police in Cambridgeshire are appealing for the public's help after a 10-year-old girl was threatened with a knife when she refused a lift from a stranger.
The incident happened as the girl was playing at the nature reserve on New Road in Whittlesey.
Police said the girl was approached by a man in a white van between 1730 BST and 1830 BST on Sunday.
He called her over and asked her if she wanted a lift but became aggressive and threatened her with a knife when she refused.
Facial stubble
The girl ran away and raised the alarm.
Police say the man is white, with blond collar-length hair and had facial stubble.
He is believed to be in his 40s with dark eyes and a mole on his left cheek and was wearing a ripped navy shirt with black trousers and a silver-strapped watch on his left wrist.
Detectives are urging parents to reiterate warnings to children about strangers.
