Missing pensioner found
Edna Herapath
Social workers say Edna Herapath was taken without their agreement

An 82-year-old woman taken from a care home three weeks ago has been found by police.

Edna Herapath, who has Parkinson's disease, was found safe and well at an address in Sutton Bridge, Lincolnshire, after a tip-off from the public.

Her daughter and granddaughter are being held by police after refusing to say where she was. They will appear at the High Court in London on Monday before Mr Justice Munby.

Social workers say Mrs Herapath was taken without their agreement, and a High Court judge had asked the public to help trace her.

Anne Jenkinson, from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, and Mrs Jenkinson's daughter Karen, were arrested for failing to comply with a court order to return the pensioner to the home.

Cambridgeshire County Council social services department said Mrs Herapath had originally been admitted to the home to give her daughter - who cared for her at home - a break, and arrangements were then made for her to become a permanent resident.

Officials said Mrs Herapath disappeared on 23 April after being taken out of the home by her daughter on a prearranged day trip.
