Energy challenge for business team
Windfarm
Renewable fuel sources could cut costs for businesses

Researchers from the University of Hull are looking at how businesses could cut costs if they switch to renewable fuels.

The university's Business School has been awarded a £220,000 grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) for the study.

It is part of a wider remit to help cut global warming, reduce carbon dioxide emissions and other harmful pollutants as well as find cleaner forms of energy such as wind or wave power.

The Business School team will look at the rising cost of electricity from its current sources and how savings could be made by investing in energy-efficient fuels.

Professor Richard Green said: "Electricity is essential to modern life and we need to understand how best to produce it in a sustainable manner."
