Detectives in Lancashire are appealing for information after a violent attack on two security guards.
The pair were targeted at the Esso service station at Clayton Brook, on Monday night.
The Securicor guards were approached by three men, as they got out of their van, at about 2320 BST.
The gang - armed with a machete and baseball bats - then attacked the pair.
One suffered a severe cut to his arm, and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital.
The men ran off empty-handed.
Police at Leyland are urging anyone who saw the gang escape, or has any information about the robbery, to contact them.
