'Neighbours from hell' face eviction
Neighbours from hell
The family threw stones and abused passers-by

A Birmingham family who have subjected their neighbours to years of violence and abuse have been ordered to leave their home.

A county court judge has given Ruby Stokes and her two sons from Yardley Wood until the end of Tuesday to leave their council home.

The court had been told the family threw stones and fireworks, lit fires and abused passers-by.

Another eight members of the same family, who live nearby, have also been told they will have to leave in one month.

But Jo Roberts, housing manager for Birmingham City Council, said she does not think the family will leave of their own accord.

She told BBC WM: "We'll check to make sure but at the end of the day if they haven't gone, we'll apply to court for a warrant.

"It is normally several weeks before we can obtain a warrant. We've got to wait until the warrant is issued but its the court time basically and getting on the lists to get the warrant."
