Blackmail case mother rewarded

A-mother-of-three from Surrey has been awarded £750 for giving evidence against two extortionists who terrorised her and her family.

The 35-year-old woman, who cannot be named, was phoned more than 1,000 times by Michael Hendry, 20, and Daniel Talbot , 21, both from North London.

The pair demanded £7,000 which they claimed was owed to them by her teenage son for a cannabis deal, the court heard.

The award was made by Judge Timothy Pontius at the Old Bailey on Friday.

Hendry was sentenced to four years and Talbot to three after they admitted blackmail.
