Woman bailed over attack case

A woman from Walney Island who is accused of attempting to murder her husband has admitted a lesser charge of wounding.

Debra Millard, 36, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Friday.

It is alleged she stabbed her husband Lance on the 28th of December 2002.

The court heard Mr Millard did not want to participate in the prosecution and had retracted his statement.

Debra Millard was facing charges of attempted murder which she denied but has now admitted a lesser charge of wounding with intent.

The case was adjourned until 6 June and Millard was granted bail to an address in Ulverston.
