Wife sentenced over husband harassment

A woman from Cornwall was jailed for 15 months following a campaign of harassment against her former husband.

Truro Crown Court heard how Marilyn Rowledge, 52, admitting breaching a restraining order and bail conditions imposed by magistrates.

In sentencing Mrs Rowledge from St Merryn, near Padstow, Judge Sean Overend told the defendant her record of four convictions for harassing her former husband and his business partner Royston Hudson was "appalling".

The court heard that Mrs Rowledge damaged her husband's car, house and office equipment, and doused his front door and kitchen with lighter fuel.

Dog excrement

In addition she smeared dog excrement over his head, as well as breaking windows, pouring paint over his golf equipment and making abusive phone calls.

Her defence counsel, Malcolm Clarke, said all the offences stemmed from the breakdown of their relationship.

"She accepts it is all over and wants to get on with her life," he said.
