The parents of teenager Laura Torn have paid tribute to their daughter.

Peter and Heather Torn said they were going through "a living nightmare" following the discovery of their daughter's body in a haystack on Wednesday.

The Torns last saw the 18-year-old after a family meal in a local pub in their home village of Owston Ferry, North Lincolnshire, on 26 April.

Mr Torn said: "She was just like any normal teenager, happy, jovial.

"She loved going out to the pub with me and her brother.

"Nobody can comprehend what we are going through."

Laura's body was discovered in a haystack by a farmyard near Misson, Nottinghamshire.

Mr Torn added: "Knowing she's never going to come back through our door that's the awful part about it especially with her only being 18. It's terrible at any time."

Several of Laura's personal items are still missing including a silver watch, a small black beaded purse and a Sony J6 mobile phone.

On Friday, Guy Phillip Beckett, 31, of Burnham Square, Owston Ferry appeared before magistrates in Scunthorpe charged with Laura's murder.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Hull Crown Court on 16 May.
