Teenagers wanted in arson inquiry
Police are looking for two teenagers who may hold clues into an arson attack at an old people's home in Cambridgeshire.

Several flats at Wildlake, Orton Malborne in Peterborough were ruined as the fire swept through in the early hours of 15 June.

Four people were rescued and two were taken to Peterborough District Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

Cambridgeshire Police want to find out who started the fire.

Two teenagers seen hanging around the estate before it broke out are being asked to come forward.

DC David English said: "Since the fire, which caused substantial damage, we have been making numerous enquiries in the area.

Arson task force

"As a result of this investigations, we are appealing to people who live or work in the local area to call me if they recall seeing two white men, aged between 16 and 20 years old hanging around the area with their pushbikes near the Eldern public house.

"I would like to speak to anyone who knows who they are, or the pair themselves.

"We need to establish whether these two men had anything to do with the fire."

An arson task force was set up in the county in February aimed at cutting the number of suspicious fires.

Figures published three months ago showed that between 2001 and 2002, two-thirds of all fires in Cambridgeshire were started deliberately.

Anyone with information should contact DC English as Thorpe Wood Police Station on 01733 563232 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
