SELF HARM GROUPS: National Self Harm Network
PO Box 16190 This organisation campaigns for the rights and understanding of people who self-harm. Provides information, contacts and workshops on matters relating to self-harm, in addition promotion of survivor-written literature. To challenge the assumptions and demystify common misconceptions surrounding self-harm. Callers can contact the organisation by mail only. Further information should be despatched within 1-2 weeks. Assist
11 Albert St
Assist offers national cover and aims to support anyone who has suffered trauma, and who may be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Open to all. The service provided includes; trauma counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy, assessments as well as a telephone helpline. Support workers will telephone clients to provide regular support. Face to face sessions can be arranged for those living in Rugby. Further information is available on request and is usually dispatched within 3 days. No SAE required.

Objectives of the Trust are to increase awareness of the existence and causes of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and its effects on the sufferers family and associates. They also aim to provide and maintain a contact point and referral network for the counselling and treatment of sufferers and to sponsor and encourage research into the causes and effects of PTSD.

They provide help for adults, young people, children and families who are suffering psychological reactions to having been involved in or witness to a traumatic event. They are open to all and offer counselling, treatment programmes, advice & research. Information leaflets are free of charge and are available by writing to the above address with a large A4, SAE and information will be despatched within 3 days. The information leaflets are also available on their website.
