Baby burnt in bath dies

The baby died at Bristol Children's Hospital

A baby girl has died after suffering 95% burns in a hot bath.

Courtnay Andow, who was 18-months-old and from Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, was immersed in the scalding water on 3 May.

She was taken to Weston General Hospital, and later transferred to Bristol Children's Hospital, but died at 0530 BST on Thursday.

Avon and Somerset Police say the baby's death is being treated as a tragic accident and they have interviewed the child's 21-year-old mother, from Grasmere Drive, Weston-super-Mare.

A joint investigation between police and social servíce is under way.
