Don and Jonathan Simms
Jonathan Simms requires round-the-clock care
What would you do if you were told by doctors that your son was dying and there was nothing anyone could do about it?

Don Simms won a battle with the medical profession that took him all the way to the High Court to try an experimental new treatment, previously only tested on animals, on his son Jonathan who has variant CJD.

In what appears to be a medical breakthrough, the teenager is showing signs that the degenerative illness has been brought under control.

Karen Allen exclusively follows the family's fight to save Jonathan's life against overwhelming odds.

Navdip Dhariwal explores the social and environmental cost behind Kenya's economic success story.
