Murder victim Bernard Lowe had a drugs conviction

Police are probing a possible drugs link to the murder of a man in Telford.

Bernard Lowe, 48, who had a drugs possession conviction, was found unconscious in Johnstone Close, Wrockwardine Wood, at 2105 BST on Thursday.

Mr Lowe, from Wrockwardine Wood, was taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford but died later.

Witnesses have told police that a group of men leapt out of a car and beat the victim up, before driving off.

Police officers have been carrying out house-to-house inquiries and an incident room has been set up at Malinsgate Police Station.

A post-mortem examination has been carried out.

Police are appealing for information.
