Attacks force pool closure
Rubber ring in swimming pool
The swimming pool will not reopen until September
A school swimming pool in Cumbria has been closed after the latest in a long line of vandal attacks.

Lochinvar School in Longtown, near Carlisle, has been closed until the end of the school year.

The move means an end to pupils lessons, swimming club activities and the annual swimming gala day.

The pool has been the subject of repeated vandalism and the school says it can no longer guarantee the safety of swimmers.

Alan Smith, Lochinvar headteacher, said he was "extremely disappointed" by the latest attack .

The pool will be closed until September.

Cumbria police are now investigating the latest incident and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
