A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of 18-year-old Laura Torn.

Laura was last seen walking home from the Crooked Billet pub in the village of Owston Ferry, North Lincolnshire, in the early hours of 27 April.

Police found her body in a haystack at Misson in Nottinghamshire, a few miles from the main search area, at 1800 BST on Wednesday.

Guy Phillip Beckett, aged 31, of Burnham Square, Owston Ferry appeared before magistrates in Scunthorpe on Friday charged with murder.

He is also charged with arson in connection with a fire at the Red Lion pub in Owston Ferry on 25 April.

There was no application for bail and Mr Beckett was remanded in custody to appear before Hull Crown Court on 16 May.
