Man blinded in acid attack
Police believe a man who had acid thrown in his face on the doorstep of his home in the Black Country was targeted deliberately.

The 59-year-old victim was blinded and suffered serious burns to his face and eyes after two men threw the corrosive substance at him in Stourdell Road, Cradley Heath, about 2230 BST on Saturday.

He is in a serious but stable condition in the burns unit of Selly Oak Hospital.

The acid also left burn marks on the driveway, letterbox and on a writing desk at the man's semi-detached home.

'Save eyesight'

Detective Inspector Gary Booth, of West Midlands Police, said: "The injuries to his eyes and face are very serious.

"I have spoken to the medical staff and they are attempting to save his eyesight."

West Midlands Police say they are looking for two white men aged 20 to 25 in connection with the attack.

The first man is described as being around 5ft 6in tall and of average build while the second man was about 6ft and of thin build.
