Man attacked with knife at home

The man is being treated for cuts to his arms and head
A 23-year-old Royston man has been attacked with a knife in his own home by four men who then stole two sports cars.

The men forced their way into the 23-year-old's home in Royse Grove at 1715 BST on Friday.

The victim was cut with a knife on his arms and head and was also hit on the back of his head.

He is being treated in Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

The gang took keys from the house before leaving in the two cars.

One car is a Mercedes SL55 AMG Compressor convertible with the registration 29X and is silver with a red interior.

The other car was a BMW M3, which was also silver with a red interior, registration 40 BEN.

The BMW also contained a laptop computer, a pilot's licence and a pilot log book.

Short hair

The gang members were all in their teens or early 20s.

One was white with blond, short-cropped hair, the second and third men were Asian with short dark hair.

The fourth man was also Asian, of slim build with short, spiky hair and a long nose.

Detective Sergeant Ian Tantrum said: "This was a savage and unwarranted attack on a lone man in his own home.

"We are treating this incident very seriously and we will not tolerate this activity and will pursue the offenders until they are successfully caught."

Police are also asking anybody who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the attack to contact them.
