A man was in hospital on Monday after being shot in the leg in Greater Manchester.
Police were called to Tameside General Hospital at 0112 BST after the injured man was taken there for treatment.
He is believed to have been shot during a disturbance in Crowthorn Road, Ashton-under-Lyne.
Residents had reported hearing a number of gunshots in the early hours of the morning.
The injured man was undergoing surgery on Monday, although his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
