Weapons seized by police patrols

Police have made several arrests and seized weapons after confrontations between two groups of youths in Coventry.

Officers have been staging patrols in the Foleshill area to control the disturbances.

West Midlands Police said in a statement that they were aware of a dispute between groups of young people in Coventry which led to a confrontation.

It is understood the arguments involve differences between Sikhs and Muslims.

Around 60 youths assembled outside the General Wolfe pub in Foleshill on Wednesday night before making their way to Edgwick Park.

Officers have been patrolling the area and conducting searches of individuals and vehicles.
