Suspected arson attack on house

A suspected arson attack to a house in Oxford is being investigated by the police.

Firefighters were called to the fire in St Omer Road, Cowley, early on Sunday morning.

Rubbish next to the building had been set alight, leading to part of the house being heavily smoke-logged.

The flames were prevented from spreading to the property, and no one was hurt.

Meanwhile, in Wallingford a caravan was destroyed by a fire on Sunday.

No one was injured in the fire at the Bridge Villa site just off the High Street.
