Police seek youths who stop ambulance
Bedfordshire Police HQ
Bedfordshire Police
Police are hunting two youths who tried to stop an ambulance taking a teenager with severe head injuries to hospital.

The 19-year-old victim had been attacked in Kempston, in Bedfordshire, on Friday night.

A spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said that a group of about 10 youths had gathered at the play area in Addison Howard Park at about 2200 BST when a fight broke out between the teenager and several others.

He was left lying on the ground with serious injuries to his head.

Appeal for information

When paramedics tried to take him to hospital, two of the youths stood in front of the ambulance to prevent it from leaving.

Detectives said they want anyone who may have been in the park at the time to come forward.

The spokesman said they also wanted to trace a young man who phoned the hospital to check on the 19-year-old's condition.

The spokesman said the teenager is not thought to be in a life-threatening condition.
