Body found after woman attacked

A man has been found dead by police investigating an attack on a woman in her Gloucestershire home.

Emergency services were called to the house in Cheltenham where they found a 45-year-old woman with serious injuries.

Police searching the area later found the body of a 36-year-old man in the grounds of the house.

The woman was taken for treatment at Cheltenham Hospital where she has been detained.

Her injuries have been described as serious but not life-threatening.

A spokesman for Gloucestershire police said that no-one else was being sought in connection with the incident.

The coroner has been informed about the death.
