Organ retention families to raise concerns

Some organs were held without relatives' permission after post mortem examinations
Two meetings are to be held in Leicester to allow families affected by the retention of organs by hospitals to raise concerns.

The Retained Organs Commission is holding both sessions at the city's Ramada Jarvis Hotel.

Relatives will be able to find out more about the commission and to talk to members at meetings on 9 July and 10 July.

The commission says these meetings do not mean any further information will be made available to the public.

Families were shocked in 2001 by the news that Leicester Royal Infirmary had held some organs without permission after post-mortem examinations.
