Tenants have homes improved
A group of council tenants in Beverley are to have their homes extensively improved.

The £2m refurbishment at Wilbert Court will include essential repairs to the 67 flats and maisonettes as well as extensive modernisation.

A show flat has been opened so that people can see what sort of improvements are planned.

Bill Roantree from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council said: "The council has been committed to giving residents real choice wherever possible including types of kitchens fitted and floor coverings."

The work also includes fitting upvc windows and upgrading the heating system.

Work on Wilbert Court is expected to be completed by December 2004.
