Bank robbed by hammer man

Police are searching for an armed robber after a raid at a bank in Cornwall.

A man walked into a branch of Bradford and Bingley in St Columb Major at about 1200 BST.

He then threatened staff with a hammer and made off with a quantity of cash.

He was last seen running towards the town centre.

The man is described as being in his early 20s, 5 feet 5 inches (1.65 metres) tall, wearing a grey balaclava and a green canvas jacket.

Police are appealing for any information about the robbery.
