Benefits advice for town
There is an opportunity for people claiming benefits or drawing pensions in Stafford to find out if they are being paid the full amount they are entitled to receive.

A day-long clinic is being held for people in the town at the request of local MP David Kidney.

Advisors will be at the day centre on Merrivale Road on Thursday to answer people's questions.

Mr Kidney says he is concerned many people are losing out.

"It's a real worry for people like myself that there is public money available, for example the minimum income guarantee, but still possibly hundreds of thousands of pensioners around the country are not claiming.

"All we need is their signature and a form and they can have the money - tens of pounds a week.

"So it is important to reach people like that."
