A woman has appeared in court accused of murdering her husband whose body was found in a hotel room near East Midlands Airport.

Carol-Lauren Croyden, 37, of Paddock Close, Edwinstowe in Nottinghamshire, is accused of murdering her husband Philip, 49, on 26 April 2003.

The body of Mr Croyden, who ran an upholstery business in partnership with his wife, was found in a room at the Hilton East Midlands Airport Hotel on the Easter bank holiday.

Mrs Croyden was arrested at the scene and later charged with his murder.

She made a brief appearance before Leicester Crown Court on Thursday where she spoke only to confirm her name.

No pleas were taken and the case was adjourned for a review hearing on 18 July 18.

She was remanded back into custody.

A man from Reading who was also arrested in connection with the death was later released by police and has not been charged with any offence.
