An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a series of arson attacks on a school site in Northamptonshire.

The arrest follows a series of fires at King John School and Thrapston Primary School site in Market Road, Thrapston.

The schools' site has been subject to five arson attacks in the last four months - including three attacks on the school site in the last week - where mobile classrooms were set alight.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said the 18-year-old, from Thrapston, was arrested on Saturday and has been released on police bail without charge.

The spokesman said the man will have to return at a later date.

He said police are keeping an open mind as to how many people may have been responsible for the arson attacks.

Police are still keen to hear from residents with any further information.
