Woman sexually assaulted

Detectives in Kent are investigating a serious sexual assault on a 53-year-old woman.

The victim was forced over a fence into woodland and attacked as she walked near Maidstone on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened at about 1430 BST in Penenden Heath.

She was sexually assaulted and robbed by the man, who then ran from the scene.

Kent Police said the woman was walking along Sandling Lane when a man grabbed her from behind.

Ran towards roundabout

He force her over a fence at the side of the road into an area of woodland, where he sexually assaulted her.

He took her purse and ran off through trees towards the Running Horse roundabout.

The man behind the assault is described as white, in his early 20s, about 5 ft 6 ins tall, of medium build and with shaven fair hair and pale skin.

He was wearing pale blue jeans and a white t-shirt.

Detectives are asking anyone who saw the man or his victim, or who knows anything about the attack, to contact them.
