Six in ten accountants mention the Finance word by the second date
|
Three quarters of accountants believe "healthy" personal finances is as important as a good sense of humour and attractiveness when dating.
Six in ten accountants admit they will broach the subject of money by the second meeting to find out if their bank balances are compatible.
If the money's not right, then long-term one-third said poor money management could scupper the chances of a prosperous future together.
Perhaps this is partly because more than one third of the1,000 accountants polled by recruitment firm Aijilon Finance said they tend to think of people who are blasé or ill-organised with money as too "frivolous".
Saying it with numbers
Unhealthy finances doesn't only scupper chances of romance, three in ten say they have fallen out with a friend or family member because of a financial dispute.
But while accountants may be choosy about a future partner's finances, they are the first to admit they don't always practice what they preach with over half confessing that their own personal finances could be better organised.
David Clubb, Operations Director at Ajilon Finance comments: "The nature of an accountant's profession means they are fairly direct and forthright people. These traits are likely to emerge when dealing with personal relationships as well."
