Man arrested over missing prostitute

Detectives investigating the disappearance of Middlesbrough prostitute Rachel Wilson have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

The 57-year-old man was arrested in Sunderland on Thursday.

He is currently being questioned at a police station in the Cleveland Police force area.

Rachel, 19, who lived in Middlesbrough, had turned to prostitution to feed a heroin addict.

She has not been seen for nearly a year.

The last sighting of her was on Middlesbrough's Southfield Road, in the early hours of 31 May, 2002.

A team of detectives has been working on the case since Rachel vanished and hundreds of posters were put up around the town.
