Rock climber rescued

A mountain rescue team and helicopter helped the woman
A woman from Northampton has been rescued after a rock climbing accident in the Peak District.

The 39-year-old, who has not been named, had been abseiling with her fiance at Stanage Edge.

As she came down the rock face she slipped and heard her back crack.

While her fiance kept her still, another climber raised the alarm.

A mountain rescue team was sent to the area and the woman was airlifted to hospital in Sheffield in a Sea King helicopter.

She has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home.
