Couple killed in crash
Couple have died after their car left the A1M and ended up in a field.

The pair, who have not been named but are believed to be a husband and wife, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened on Friday afternoon near Stevenage, Hertfordshire.

The cause of the crash is not known.


Child dies after accident

A three-year-old girl has died in hospital after a road accident in Bedford.

The accident happened on Tuesday while the child's mother was pushing the girl in her pushchair across the road.

The girl was taken to Bedford Hospital South Wing and later transferred to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where she died on Wednesday.

She was later named as Lisa Marie Whitmore, of Cottril Way, in Bedford.


Butcher's Grand Slam tribute

A rugby-loving Hertfordshire butcher has cooked up a unique tribute to England's Six Nations triumph by creating his own Grand Slam sausages and burgers.

Joe Collier used ingredients from all six nations to create the items: English lamb and garden herbs, Guinness from Ireland, oatmeal from Scotland, sweet red peppers from Italy, leeks from Wales and onions from France.

Mr Collier said: "We wanted to commemorate the Grand Slam because it was such an amazing achievement.

"We've sold hundreds."


Confusion of new one way system

A new one way system in Luton has been causing confusion for some motorists.

The apparent new and improved traffic sytem is at the junction of New Bedford road and Telford Way.

Colin Chick, the director of environment and regeneration on Luton Borough Council, denied that people were not made aware of the changes.
