Potentially vital witnesses to a child abduction are being sought by Lincolnshire police.
Two women may have helped the young girl, after it is claimed she was dragged away from her mother by a man.
The incident is reported to have happened last Friday, when the child vanished from outside a toyshop on the junction of Rutland and Lumley road in Skegness.
When found, the girl said a man had grabbed her but two passers-by had hung onto her until the man fled.
Suspect's description
The girl's mother told police she had been looking into the toyshop window with a male friend when she realised her daughter had disappeared.
They found her shortly afterwards with two women.
One of them, who is thought to be in her 60s said she had rescued the girl from a man, by holding onto her until he released her and ran away.
The five-year-old said she had tried to fight off the man, who had dragged her down the street.
She described him as being quite old, about six feet tall, plump, with long straggly hair and a grey beard.
He was wearing a white jumper with black stripes on it.
Officers say they are extremely keen to hear from the two ladies who helped the girl.
