Dawn immigration raids arrest six
A police raid
More than 60 officers raided two addresses
Six men suspected of being illegal immigrants were arrested on Tuesday following a series of dawn raids in Oxford.

The men, from Algeria, were detained after more than 60 police officers raided two addresses in Mark Road and Lyndworth Mews, both in Headington, as part of an illegal immigration investigation.

Thames Valley Police said the men were being questioned by Immigration Service officers on suspicion of being illegal immigrants and using forged documentation to obtain entry into the UK.

A spokesman for the force said: "If charged, they will be deported."

Following the raids at about 0600 BST, the men were taken to a police station in Oxford.

Specially trained officers then searched both the addresses, accompanied by evidence-gathering teams.

Dog handlers were also present at both addresses.
