Waterfront dispute could be settled
Waterfront development
The dispute over the land has been going on for some time
Jersey's politicians are to hear a proposed settlement in a dispute over the ownership of land at the St. Helier waterfront.

The case has been brought by Les Pas Holdings against the States of Jersey.

Les Pas Holdings has been contesting ownership of the waterfront land for some time and there have been several hearings in Jersey's Royal Court.

But now one of the island's longest running legal disputes could be settled out of court.

Proceedings deferred

States Members are due to be given an outline at a private meeting on Tuesday.

But no final settlement can be agreed without going to the States Assembly.

When the proceedings were deferred the Royal Court heard that a settlement could avoid a long and expensive trial.
