To mark the logo unveiling, Georgia will be presented with a selection of prizes and her school will receive £1,000 for new equipment.

The new fleet of six recycling vehicles is being funded by a £620,000 grant from the government's Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Some of the DEFRA funding is also being used to teach young people in schools about the importance of reducing the amount of waste through recycling.

Councillor Deborah Yamanaka, of North Somerset Council said: "We want to urge more people to take part in recycling their household waste and are always looking at ways to make this easier for our residents.

"I am looking forward to seeing Georgia's logo on our vehicles and I am delighted that so many young children entered the competition and showed an interest in the future of recycling in North Somerset."
