Careers centres can help adults back into work
|
Careers centres are for everyone and most towns have one.
They are great for advice and resources - books, leaflets, videos and internet access.
You will be able to find out about training opportunities, university and college courses, working in Europe, voluntary work, gap year schemes, apprenticeships and traineeships.
If you are returning to work after a break, or feel in need of career development, you may be glad of an adult guidance service.
You can normally find them in your local careers centre. This is the service for those who have been in work before - or at least out of education for some time - regardless of age or qualifications.

LearnDirect

There is one in most towns with specially trained advisors and a library of resources to help you. They will help with redundancy counselling, psychometric testing, retraining and refresher courses, interview practice, funding for mature students or an international job search.
The only drawback is that there may be a charge for adult guidance service, especially if you are employed. For more information contact the LearnDirect helpline.
