Welsh women top cheat chart
The Graduate
Three quarters of Welsh women admitted affairs in the poll
Welsh women are the most likely to cheat on their partners, according to a new survey.

The magazine poll found 75% of Welsh women surveyed admitted they had been unfaithful - the highest proportion in the UK.

The poll also revealed that Tom Jones is one of the male celebrities women across the UK would most like to do their cheating with.

Anna Kingsley, features editor at Chat magazine, said the survey's results had been surprising.

"It came out that two thirds of all women have cheated and Welsh women came out on top," she said.

"I think it comes out that this happening all across the country.

"We are often berating the men who are having affairs, but they are having affairs with women - women are just as guilty as men," she added.

At the other end of the scale from Wales, girls from the East Midlands were the most loyal with only 55% admitting to infidelity.

'Wishful thinking'

Meanwhile, 62-year-old singer Tom Jones also demonstrated his continuing appeal with appearances in two separate categories.

"Tom Jones came in second as the celebrity the readers thought was most likely to cheat," said Ms Kingsley.

"But he also came in the top 10 of the celebrities we would most like to cheat with, so it is probably just wishful thinking," she added.

Jones, who starts a Welsh tour on Friday night, was beaten in the poll by young rivals Robbie Williams and Gareth Gates.

Asked why Tom was so popular, Ms Kingsley said it was his charisma, voice and gyrating hips that made him desirable.
