A gunman walked into a barber shop in south London and shot dead a customer.
Scotland Yard says Andrew Sams, 25, was shot dead at the Upper Cut barbers in West Norwood at 1750 BST on Tuesday.
Mr Sams, who lived in the area, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The murder is being investigated by officers from Operation Trident, the Metropolitan Police unit which investigates gun crime in the black community.
Detective Chief Inspector Peter Valentine described the murder as "callous" and appealed for anyone who saw the gunman running away on Norwood High Street to come forward.
"I would also like to appeal directly to anyone that was actually in the Upper Cuts barber shop when this incident occurred - I would also urge these people to contact police."
"Operation Trident have developed specialist skills in dealing with witnesses and are able to offer protection to anyone with information who may feel vulnerable."
