Dale Winton presents the lottery show Mr Street appeared on
An airport security guard is under investigation after appearing on a TV game show while he was off work suffering from the effects of stress.

Will Street, who works at Manchester Airport, raised suspicions when he appeared on the BBC's National Lottery game show In It To Win It.

Mr Street, 43, won £12,500 when he successfully answered two questions on the show, presented by Dale Winton.

Bosses at the airport began an inquiry immediately after the show, on 3 May, which was broadcast after it was alleged Mr Street had been away from work for three months.

He answered the general knowledge questions as part of the show, which plays host to the Lotto, Lotto Extra and Thunderball draws are made.

A spokeswoman for Manchester Airport said an "investigation was ongoing" in to the allegations.

"No decision has yet been reached," she said.

"The security officer has not been suspended."
