Man in court over gangland killing

Billy McPhee: Murdered in restaurant
A man has appeared in court in connection with the stabbing of gangland figure Billy McPhee.

Mark Clinton, 32, of no fixed abode, appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court in relation to his death on 8 March.

Mr McPhee was knifed in the Brewers Fayre bar/restaurant in the Swinton area, east of the city.

He died soon afterwards.

Mr Clinton made no plea or declaration before Sheriff Craig Henry and was remanded in custody pending further enquiries.
