Fish have been killed in the beck
Thousands of fish have been killed at an East Yorkshire beauty spot after raw sewage leaked into a beck.

Experts from the Environment Agency are investigating the incident in Pocklington after a member of the public reported seeing fish floating on the surface of the water at West Green.

Yorkshire Water have confirmed that raw sewage was discharged into the waterway, using up the oxygen fish need to survive.

Experts from the Environment Agency say the "tragic and unnecessary" blow to wildlife which could take years to recover.

Families are being advised to stay away from the picnic spot at the head of Pocklington Canal until the area has been cleaned up.
